TXT
– In 2009, Montreal clothing company TXT Carbon, joined
forces with Nico Archambault, winner of season one "So You
Think You Can dance- Canada" to design and produce the limited
edition "Stand-Up" t-shirt. The t-shirt was originally
designed to raise awareness about bullying and its devastating
consequences to its victims; and also to raise funds for PREVNet
– the Promoting Relationships and Eliminating Violence Network
– www.prevnet.ca Bullying prevention is a cause that
is very personal to Nico. He has experienced bullying first hand
growing up.
In order to expand the reach of the Stand Up T-shirt across Canada, TXT
and Nico collaborated with The Family Channel, who themselves, are
whole-heartedly committed to this cause. The collaboration was a
success, raising both awareness for this cause and funds for PREVNet.
In 2010, The Family Channel continues to be a champion for the cause
of bullying prevention. And again will be using the "Stand
Up" t-shirt as its anthem to raise awareness and to empower
adults and children across the country in their latest "Stand
Up" campaign.
The Family Channel
(www.family.ca) has
recently embarked as a major sponsor of this event, and will be
doing extensive promotions with the Nico t-shirt. The Family Channel
is a major supporter and sponsor of PREVNet. In November The
Family Channel will be supporting anti bullying week through their
Stand UP! campaign; during which they will be
distributing the exclusive Nico t-shirt to many participating schools.
Family Channel will also support the sale of this t-shirt through its
website.
This cause is very personal to Nico. He has experienced bullying first hand
growing up, and understands how it can destroy a childhood and affect the
person as an adult. However, Nico is living proof that surviving bullying
can lead to inner strength and achievement. He is proud to be associated
with PREVNet and hopes his story will reach thousands of children affected
by bullying today, and thousands of adults who can help make the difference.
